Medicine is one of the fastest growing fields in the world, with over 1.8 million jobs opening every year.
However, most adolescents aren't aware of just how many jobs are available in this field that aren't your typical surgeon, nurse, or physician. In this series, we will be cover Hidden Gem Jobs in order to broaden your idea of what medicine can do.
Now, Medical (or Biomedical) Engineering is focused on creating new devices through advancements in technology to improve human health.
From artificial organs and elaborate prosthetics to brain computer interfaces, a biomedical engineer will make you look like a cyborg straight out of a comic book (like Teen Titans).
Enjoy getting your hands dirty and building high technology? Biomedical engineering might be perfect for you!
Here are the steps you need to take:
Become a High School Graduate (or take the GED)
Pursue a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, which should take 4 years.
A graduate degree is not neccessary, but it may be more helpful.
Work in the field for at least four years to gain a professional license/engineering degree!
